ACCOUNT DIRECTOR - JOB DESCRIPTION
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Account Director to lead the consultancy side of the business, working directly with the co-founders to ensure best-in-class client delivery. You will lead project management and delivery, manage the internal team, and serve as the senior client lead across projects.
This role is a key part of growing our consultancy business, working with clients spanning hospitality, retail, consumer goods, architecture, lifestyle, immersive, automotive, music, culture and design. You will manage senior client relationships, ensure smooth operations, timelines and workflow within our small, nimble and flexible team, and work across commercial projects with clients globally.
You will also take ownership of repeat business, managing retained clients and quarterly reporting. The right person will be well versed in client management and experienced working at a senior level to manage both client expectations and team output.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Projects & Delivery
Leading project management, client delivery and quality control across all consultancy work.

Act as the senior client lead and main point of contact across projects

Lead delivery of work across research, strategy, communications, design toolkits and reports.

Lead project management and delivery, ensuring projects run to timeline, budget and brief

Review and quality-control all work before it reaches the client, maintaining the quality, clarity and consistency of deliverables
Internal Management
Managing the internal team and the systems, processes and infrastructure that support delivery.

Manage team workload, priorities, capacity and resourcing across interdisciplinary projects

Establish and maintain operational processes, tools and workflows

Improve systems and ways of working to make delivery more efficient, consistent and scalable

Identify operational gaps and implement solutions across the consultancy
Commercial & Client Growth
Managing client relationships and contributing to the growth and development of Kinda's consultancy.

Own day-to-day relationships with retained clients, maintaining strong senior relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat work

Lead quarterly reporting, time and capacity tracking, and renewal processes for retained clients

Support pitch decks and new client proposals
Strategy
Contributing to the development and evolution of Kinda's consultancy offer, informed by client needs, market opportunities and delivery experience.

Contribute to how services and retainers are structured, developed and positioned across sectors including hospitality, retail, consumer goods, architecture, lifestyle, immersive, automotive, music, culture and design

Bring insight from client relationships and project delivery into the development of Kinda's services and commercial offering

Identify opportunities to strengthen and systematise Kinda's consultancy proposition
Communications, Marketing & Brand
Support Kinda's external communications and helping shape how the studio is represented publicly across written, digital and media channels.

Support the development of Kinda's public-facing communications across research, consultancy and thought leadership

Develop and maintain Kinda's written voice and messaging across public-facing channels

Work with internal team to identify stories, insights and research that can be developed into public-facing content

Ensure consistency and quality across all external communications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Experience in a similar role leading multinational clients, managing multiple workstreams, senior stakeholder management

Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams

Experience working within a research, cultural, creative, design or innovation agency

Strong client management skills, with the ability to understand, translate and apply client needs throughout strategy and delivery

Confident working with senior clients and stakeholders and the ability to build trusted relationships

Proven experience managing budgets, timelines, resourcing and operational delivery across small and large-scale projects

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing public-facing content

Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Autonomous and strategic, with the judgement when to take ownership, make decisions and to collaborate

Comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment

Willingness to adopt and explore AI practices to help increase efficiency of process

Interest in science, art, design, culture, immersive experiences, health and wellbeing
DESIRED

Degree or academic background in psychology, neuroscience, behavioural science or a related field

Experience producing publications, thought leadership or editorial content

Experience across sectors such as consumer products, design, architecture, hospitality, retail, technology or culture

Ability to quickly understand complex research, scientific or technical concepts and translate them into clear, compelling communications
ROLE DETAILS

Salary: £65,000–£70,000 per annum

Working pattern: Full-time, 5 days per week

Location: Flexible hybrid working, with approximately 2 days per week in our Shoreditch office
