— APPROACH

INTEGRATING CUSTOM NEUROSCIENCE INTO THE CREATIVE PROCESS DRIVES INNOVATION

Our custom Science-Informed Design approach fuses our studio and lab for an end-to-end process that translates insights to ideate, innovate and measure creative executions.

We begin with an empathetic and holistic understanding of the concept with a briefing workshop that explores the challenge from multiple perspectives.

LISTEN

Frame 78.1.png

Using a transdisciplinary research approach, we dig deep into the scientific, cultural and aesthetic findings, drawing from ancient wisdom, current insights and future considerations.

EXPLORE

We synthesise this into design pillars to form a creative intelligence which opens a broader range of knowledge to draw ideas from, and fuels an enhanced collaborative design process.

SYNTHESISE

APPLY TO DESIGN

The science is then woven into a design toolkit that
embeds the research directly into the creative prototyping, design and build.

Our Lab gets integrated to kick off an iterative process of testing and learning including aesthetic, sensory, or physiological considerations to guide creative choice and maximise impact.

BUILD & TEST

The final execution is activated utilising our communications, media, talent expertise to maximise impact. Final evaluation explores the impact across a range of measures including equity and access.

KINDA GLOSSARY

NEUROAESTHETICS The neuroscience of how art, culture, technology and environments measurably impact our brains and bodies to impact our feelings, relations and behaviours.

AESTHETIC EXPERIENCE Experiences of art, nature, music, architecture, movement, cinema, beauty, scent and other sensory stimuli which arouse a complex interplay, lighting up our senses and creating a cascade of brain-body responses to support personal, social and environmental health.

BIOSENSORS Non-invasive technologies like mobile EEG headsets to measure brainwaves; biosensors to capture physiology, and brain-body interfaces enabling us to understand our moment-to-moment brain-body responses within the complexities of real world environments.

CONNECTEDNESS Connectedness is the bedrock to wellbeing. As social beings, we have evolved for connection. The three lenses of connection are Self - emotional & physiological health Others - empathy, synchrony & collective experience Environments - built & natural landscapes

MULTISENSORY The simultaneous co-mingling of our senses has a powerful effect on our brains, creating richer perceptual experiences, reduced cognitive load, heightened emotional experiences, improved memory, and deeper understanding.
